Movie Poster Promo

In my G.T. class we have yet another project (wow shocker) and we have to make a movie trailer. It's called the "Men in Black IV" and yes, it is the quadruple of the original "Men in Black". The main characters that will be seen on the poster are Me, Mason Doo, Micah Miller, and Jason Hoy. The poster will be taken place in two places. One will be at Mr. Sanderl's lab and one will be at kapahi park. Jason and I will be looking over yonder and Mason and Micah will be looking like they will punch each other but they're actually just posing.

We put MIB4 instead of men in black 4 because we thought that it was to long to put so we put it in abbreviations and actually it looked better than Men in Black 4. We chose my poster because it actually looked better then my team's one. I added a bevel and emboss to the text and added a stroke. I also added the drop shadow effect but for some reason it didn't look like there was any drop shadow but I think it was because the drop shadow was black and also was the background. I also added some reviews but I didn't in the final one.

The effects I used made an impact on the text by making overall the poster better because the text itself is cool then add a little white stroke around the text then added some bevel and emboss to make the text more bold and stuff. The picture of Mason and Micah looks a little weird because first of all Jason's arm is in the picture and I forgot to erase the arm. Second, Mason's shirt looked like it got painted on. Well it did. The title is called "Men in Black" and Mason's shirt was white and I thought "why would an agent's shirt be white if the title is called 'Men in Black'. The guy is in white and it is called men in BLACK". So that is why it is painted. And that's how the effects make an impact.

Proactive or Procrastination?

To be honest, I'm a procrastinator. I know when stuff are due and sometimes I just barely finish it. I always try not too procrastinate because it sucks. Seriously, I don't like it because it makes my parents mad and I get grumpy when I have to do work. I really want to get rid of this habit. Not only do I blame myself for this, I blame the projects. Usually I would blame myself, but to be honest, some of the projects that I have to do are to hard, a lot of work, and sometimes the team you have is not a really good team. I work hard but honestly, I'm a procrastinator.

My level of productivity relates to my amount of free time by the faster I get things done then the more free time I get. Since I'm a procrastinator, I barely have free time. Sometimes homework that I have to do that are very easy I usually put those to the side then work on the bigger homework like projects or quadruple homework. Then I just forget about it. Then I have no free time and I get stuck doing a lot of homework. So being a procrastinator can take away not only your free time, but it also takes away other people's free time. Not only does it stress you but it stresses everybody else.

If I could change anything about my work habits, I would work on my OWN desk and listen to music while I'm doing math and those things. the desk because I don't have my own desk that I can put my things on. Music because it is one of the things that I like to do and I work faster listening to music.Getting my own desk would be hard and I don't know how to get the desk. The music will be easy because all I would need to do is just grab my small speakers (which is actually pretty loud), connect the speakers to my Ipad (the speakers are also wireless so I don't need that cable to plug into both of them), then make a playlist with all the music I like. I'm sure hat these will work because it will make home work sometimes fun. But I still procrastinate and I will try to grow out of this habit!

My Visual Poem

Are you satisfied with your results and why, or how could you make it better?
My Visual poem is about music. I chose music because that's what I like to do. Music has more uses than just listening to it. You can get groovy and dance to the rhythm. Maybe your party is lame and you want to make people happy. So you add music. Music can brighten up your day in any type of way. People listen to music either because they're bored or they love that song. Music can cheer you up even if your happy! Not only did I choose music because it's what I love music. I chose it because it has a lot of ways to make not only people but everything happy!

My special effects affects the meaning, mood, and audience by being somewhat related to music. I tried to make the effects as close to related to music. It probably didn't look good because I'm a procrastinator. I only shot all the videos two days before the actually project. Then I tried adding in the effects on the day before it was due and I tried to make it as great as possible. The audience's mood would be okay because the special effects are cool and there is probably one or two spots that they will wonder about. People may not know but music is important to me and I want to keep it alive.

I'm satisfied with the results of how my visual poem came out. I'm happy because I actually did a pretty good job. There was a couple of places that could of been fixed. But the only reason why it was like that is because I procrastinated. I could've add more background music and nice b-roll. I should've add music because that was the whole poem was about. I worked my hardest on this project and finished it at the last second. I'm satisfied and happy how my poem came out.

Finished News Story

Me and my team's profile story for GT is finished. The story is a Profile Story about Mrs. Lardizabal and why she wanted and started music. The story is also about Mrs. Lardizabal's passion for music. The people who contributed in the story is Timothy Blum, Kynan Ledee, Alaka'i Gonsalves, me, Mary Lardizabal, Haley Gokan, Gavin Acob, and all of 1st and 6th period for chorus. Me and my team chose to do a profile story about Mrs. Lardizabal and her passion for music because Mrs. Lardizabal is one of the teachers that works the hardest and she tries her best to help her chorus and ukulele band to the music festival in Anaheim, California. Mrs. Lardizabal makes all these performances and she also advertise all these different stuff like the color run and the rice festival. That's why we chose to do it about Mrs. Lardizabal.

To me the final to my project was pretty good and we could of done better because in some of the shots were blurry and could use some work. My teacher told us that we would be doing two more of these projects. So now I'm ready to do another one and I know whats coming at me. The final project was pretty good. We had a couple blurry shots and I think that's a easy fix. Just next time we will remember to focus it all the way.

In our class, we voted what story had the greatest quality and that was the best. We got 0% (0) students of the class that graded us 1. We got 7% (2) students of the class that graded us 2. We got 56% (15) students of the class that graded us 3. Finally, we got 37% (10) students of the class that graded us 4. People in my class had to vote which one was better and 11% (3) students chose our team. I think that the scores that we got was what I expected. Next time I want to do better because I didn't know what to do and I think I will do it better.

Lessons Learned

The most interesting part about me and my teams project is that were almost done. I'm surprised that we're almost done because this is a hard project and it's not due in two weeks. The first interview was with Mrs. Lardizabal and the interview was bad because we could hear static more then Mrs. Lardizabal. So the second interview, you could still hear a little static be not that much.

The biggest road block was deciding on the topic of our story. First we tried too do the carnival but it was only three days. Then we tried too do apple vs samsung but we were all too scared to call the manager and ask if we can video. Finally we all decided to make a profile story on Mrs. Lardizabal. We all thought that news stories were to hard to do. So we did a profile story. Right when we changed our story, we had to finish our profile pitch sheet that was due I think two days after we changed it. But we managed to finish it.

I think the most valuable part of the filmmaking prosses is making the interviews long and usefull because some people always make a short ansewer and that anoys me, so we have to make a question that will have a long answer with very usefull facts. Our questions for Mrs. Lardizabal was very usefull and long but some of the questions for the students was a little short but still a little usefull. I think the most valuable part is making the interviews long and usefull.

Hiki No Behind the Scenes

So during school I have GT (Gifted and Talented). Mr. Sanderl is having us do a project. We have to make a little news or profile story on this show called "Hiki No". So far, me and my team has three interviews. We don't know how much B-roll we have but Mr. Sanderl said that there can never be enough B-roll. So we don't have enough B-roll. We're still writing down the transcription for the interviews. All we need to do is write down our last interview then we'll be 15% done with the entire project. This project is hard, but Mr. Sanderl said that this will probably be the hardest project we'll ever do.

When we're not rolling the camera we help each other with the questions and how we're going to ask them. Before we interview the interviewee we ask if we can interview him/her because what if they don't want to be on national television. Before we shoot the interview the interviewee, we tell the interviewee the questions we're going to ask her/him so then they will have a little time for them too think about it. We do it because then the interviewee will know what to say and won't keep saying "um". There will be less pauses in the interview.

I will help my team by doing work when I am not in school. I try to stay on task whenever I need too. I help set up the camera and write the questions for the interview. I also help finish the profile pitch sheet after school. I will take part in finishing the transcription for the interview.

Back To School

When I came back too school I expected more, and my prediction was correct. Middle school is hard, but I know I'll get used too it. My favorite moment so far was interviewing Mrs Lardizabal. It was fun setting up the camera and asking her the questions we made.
My biggest challenge is using the bell schedule and remembering the times in school.

The Experiment

The experiment was pretty hard when I started using it but when I started using the tools properly I got the hang of it. I know i'm not the best at the photoshop app but i'm glad I did it because this class uses this app a couple times during the year. Right when I learned the tools we had too turn in my final picture and I know i'm not the best! By the way i'm a Michael Jackson fan!
